I've been drawing and sketching for as long as I can remember, and it has always been an important part of my life. Up until about a year ago drawing and designing had been purely a hobby of mine; but recently I have venture out and tried to do something more with it. Over the summer of 2013 I decided to give it a go as an honest to goodness graphic designer, and am slowly but surely making it happen.
I recently graduated with a masters in Music Business from NYU and the ultimate goal is to combine my love of music and art/design to become a designer for artists, musicians, bands, entertainers, athletes, whathaveyou.
I try to draw or design something everyday and I love constantly having projects, so even when I don't have commissioned work I still like to think of different things I can do just for the fun of it. Having no formal training or background I love teaching myself and learning as many new things as I can and always try to improve my skill set. (Just compare some of my first deviations with my latest ones!)
My love of drawing in fact got me into some trouble when I was preschool. The teachers called my mom in for a meeting to discuss some "troubling" drawings I had done that had raised some eyebrows. Apparently the drawings were violent depictions from the troubled mind of a (possibly abused child.) Nothing could have been further from the truth. Upon seeing the drawings my mom told the teachers that obviously the drawings were of THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!
Some 20 years later I still love the turtles and I just wish I still had those drawings!
